I managed to only gain 3 pounds this holiday season. I have developed a craving for chocolate shakes lately and I think that might be related. I don't know if I can blame it on pregnancy since I have always loved shakes but I now prefer them over even the beloved chocolate peanut butter ice cream and find the cool creamy goodness settles my stomach. Everything is alright on the baby front. I was having a little spotting this weekend and was sent in for an ultrasound to find two little 1 1/2 inch fetus wiggling their arms and legs all around with appropriately fast heartbeats of 160 bpm each. So that is a good sign but not definitive that things will work out. I feel like such a whinny baby these days but I cannot wait for this first trimester to get over. I have a new found appreciation for all you women that went through this all.
Greyson is busy working on deadline material for his websites. He is waiting for the rain to clear to take some outdoor pictures of local businesses. He may have a long wait as this is Washington. It seems all of our pets except one discus (a fish) made it through our time away. Ada went with us this weekend to Grandpa and Grandma's (Jan and Larry) house for the office painting extravaganza. They painted three days in a row while I played the "pregnancy and fumes don't mix" card to get out of any work. Instead I got some good recliner time in. I have to get me one of those. I think if I had one I could basically go into hibernation until spring....
What is up with all of you????

Greyson and Dad were awesome painters and tapers and furniture movers. And I feel I can use the word awesome even though it has been banned as an overused word, because they were truly awe-inspiring workers.
I am the talk of the administration building with my snazzy office make over. Also went to Home Depot and bought 2 new plants. One is fairly large with leaves varigated (sp?) with peachy stripes. The other has a peach colored bloom. So - very coordinated. I am going to work on getting some pictured framed for the large bare wall next weekend.
Sooooo glad Melanie and babies are okay. Had us worried there for awhile. However, that seems to be a pattern here so we might as well get used to it. Going to be a long 9 months.
Had a great visit with the Deans over Christmas. They even arranged for it to snow one day while we were in the area. I am loving my new weather station and, despite Melanie's objection, I think it is going to end up in my bathroom. That may be a strange place, but I feel one needs to know the temperature and general weather before dressing in the morning. Very logical.
We are still waiting for a picture from the Porters of their new addition.
Grandma FarAway managed to catch the worst stomach virus ever. She was very, very sick for 3 solid days complete with a trip to the hospital for an IV and to verify my diagnosis of gastroenteritis. We now have on hand a good supply of thermometer, pedialyte, Imodium, etc. for the next virus anyone around here would like to contract.
I have found out via phone call that Aunt Joanne faithfully reads the blog although we never hear from her. She says our news outshines her news.
I guess my painting project, location of Christmas gifts and vomiting updates are pretty exciting.
The Porters had a calm but enjoyable holiday season as we stayed home. The new puppy is both fiesty and lovey. She cuddles and still puts up a good tug of war fight with Lucy. Lucy seems to enjoy her little fluff bunny of a sister. Will try to get Tim to help me post some cute pictures. He's busy looking at some great job opportunites.
The kids actually wanted to go back to school. I'm going to make some banana bread and get caught up on laundry.
Mel and Greyson, there's this great pictoral book on the developing fetus. I'll try and remember the author's name. It's amazing the changes detailed in pictures and it might make your journey even more incredible. Wow...twins. Still getting used to that idea.
Love to all.
