Have you started class yet?
I like mine very much. My first one is Communication Design Studio 3, which is a look at information design. Frightfully project intensive I can tell. Our main project deals with gathering information concerning the election and presenting it in interesting ways, one way being unbiased, and one based on point of view.
The second class, interactive media 1 is strictly web design using Dreamweaver(how convenient!). Extra credit might include creating an additional website (Sweethome perhaps??)
The third, I think you would love, and that is the history of architecture. He unloaded new vocabulary on us on the first day. I took 4 pages of notes(college ruled of course) in that one. We looked at post and lintel, arches-really kind of a brief overview.
Last night I went to Mt Hood Community College to take my PSU coursework-a class called American Family Fiction and Film. We watched a Woody Allen film called Hannah and her sisters. We'll be discussign it over the internet on a forum.
Well I guess that's it. Class starts in a few minutes.
I think we should start a fraternity. What are the greek letters for FOG?

Applesauce
I just finished turning a BIG box of apples into applesauce, so I'm feeling very domestic and housewifely. I used Grandma Faraways fruit musher/strainer thing and it worked very well. I can't image any small electric appliance working any better. If India likes homemade applesauce half as much as she likes strawberry jam, I'll save some for her.
I think you should all read about Howard Gardners "Seven Ways of Knowing" so you can get in touch with your own special type of intelligence.

burger
This is the creature, fully matured, in all of its glory. It should now be separated from the dog. I'm actually very excited about this. I think seeing that day after day had mel and me suffering alongside our poor ridgeback.

Increadibly Gifted
So you think your smart do you???
So for fair reference all participants need to take the same IQ Test so that we can compare scores and make fun of those that don't perform as well as us smarties. I made sure to take the test first to be sure I made it into the gifted range before putting out this challange. I'm not stupid. So if you want to compare your brilliance, then take the first test on the site 'Ultimate IQ Test' and report your score. If you find that too easy then take a stab at the 'Test for Exceptional Intelligence'. It made my head hurt just reading the first question.
So far here are the scores:
136 Tim (in the lead but not by much) 144 in 12 min. test
134 Mel (narrowly lost the lead) 131 in 12 min. test
? Greyson (won't report score)
? Traci (needs to take correct test) 130 in 12 min. test
? Jan (doesn't know how to use a computer anymore)
? Larry (hands are too itchy to use a mouse)
So take on the challange if you will and don't feel bad if you score low. Every family needs the "simple" person to make the rest of us feel superior.
(And by the way.... I randomly answered the 12 minute timed quiz and scored a 95 without even reading the questions)

Please welcome the newest bloggers...
Aunt Chris and Grandma Sharp are now representing the Californian Sharps. Please be nice to them while they get there feet wet in the Sharp blog site.
However, if they can't understand our family quote above then we have some work to do to get them up to "par".

(Calc X Physics) = Itchy Hands
So I heard that my father has suddenly broken out in itchy hand syndrome from the anticipated excitement of going back to school. When do you start dad?? You will have to update us with any brilliant ideas that they put in your head.
Maybe we could post physics story problems and see who can solve them first!!
I took the IQ test at this site listed below. I scored in the gifted range, can anyone beat that?? Try the first quiz at this site. It does take a while to complete. Give it a try unless your SCARED.

Welcome to Kalena/Ethan
I want to send out an official welcome to either Kalena or Ethan who is scheduled to come in time to celebrate my birthday with me. (I don't think it is secret) We look forward to his/her first picture in that dolphin shaped costume they always wear. Hope you feel better soon Jenn.
First Day of School
And their off!!
I know all of you Sharp decendants must take a first day of school picture like we always did. So let's see them. Email me a picture of those children in their new duds I will post them for you.
I would also like to hear any 'first day of school stories' that you may have. Get those kids to typing or have them write out a story and type it in for them.

Lazy Days
Well, the day has finally come. Greyson is putting in his last day of work today. Then it is 3 weeks of honey-do's for him.
He got one class dropped from his "ideal" schedule so we were frantically researching another 2-day-a-week schedule for him (and I think we found one). This saves lots of driving time and parking money and leaves him with 3 days a week to keep the house spotless and a chance to work on his culinary skills.
