The vet said it is a wart. They analyzed the tissue already. They also said to let it go because it is a virus and the dog's immune system will eventually kill it. It is supposedly fairly common among dogs up to 2 years of age, and that they grow out of it. I'm not sure of the odds of it becoming cancerous. I'm guessing the more we mess with it, the more likely it will.
Murphy says that if he had known messing with it was bad, he wouldn't have. He has cleaned the blood off his mouth region. He also says Ada liked the chew game.
Personally, this is one of the grossest topics since Mom's hairball and the cat pictures.
We'll see what we can do. We had a chunk fall off as I was writing this. She ate the chunk with reservations, and then did a strange jaw tapping thing after she snapped her tongue on her nose. But from now on, we'll keep the coosh ball preserved for our next visit with you guys.
