I just thought you all would enjoy another dog tale.....
Ada has been feeling quite ill for the last two days. She would barely get up out of her doggy bed, wasn't eating or drinking and didn't want to go outside to go potty. I was getting very worried about her as we had found a plastic baggy all torn up. This indicated to me that she had probably got in the garbage and had eaten some rotten meat with a bit of plastic baggy thrown in for good measure. So I was sure that she had a blocked intestine and was going to require expensive surgery to save her life.
However this morning we found this disgusting throwup- diarehah pile out back on the concrete. But no, this wan't your ordinary tu-di pile. As I searched through it with a thin stick to find that intestine blocking plastic I was sure she ate I found something much more discusting. Between all the mats of dark grey fur I found at least 3 tails and various internal organs, such as hearts, livers and intestines, that I could accurately assume once made up a number of shrews. But that was not all, I also found a barely digested newt with its tongue extened from its mouth as if the process of being swallowed whole and being digested alive was not the most pleasant experience.
So.. needless to say, Ada is feeling much better this morning and we hope that she has learned her lesson. Ada wishes for you to pass this story on to other canines so that they will not have to go through what she had to endure.
Ada is now out of her funk and happily chewing on a bone once again.

you gotta remember why she is licking your face to begin with. Life would be so much easier if we could eat like dogs. The floor would be clean, no dishes needed, and we could even leave the seat up.
I think Ada was just trying to be helpful - noticing that Quark isn't a good mouser, and perhaps jealous - noticing that Cleo is.
Dad traded his vacuum for the very same thing sans the broken part. Came home and vacuumed all the floors. What a great husband.
I've been working and not enjoying it much. Have a big grant project that I need to spend time on this weekend when I don't have as many interruptions as during a regular school day.
NOthing very exciting or even gross or terriby vulgar here.
I had a 7-year-old relate to me this morning how his grandma who passed away a year ago gave him his very first drag on a cigarette and how "cool" it was. I asked him what she died of--you guessed it, lung cancer. HE was somewhat undecided on whether he was going to be a smoker when he grows up. He's thinking he'll just smoke one a day like his new grandma does. Something vaguely disturbing about this conversation.
Tomorrow I'm going to a workshop on children with behavior disorders so if any of your children develop ODD I'll know how to handle it.
Night ...

Just checking to see if I could get on the blog and make a comment myself.
I think your dog's problem is disgusting.
That is what really got to me in the upper levels of math and science. The concepts were easy enough to accept. The formulas made sense, but with the problems with 10 plus steps, and every imaginable function applied to it, I never seemed to get it right. It was 10 minutes of calculation and an hour of troubleshooting. Kinda like working on a computer i suppose...
Ada continuously heard us calling him Oreo. She takes things very literally. i'm guessing the lack of white creamy transfats in this particular oreo had her confused.
Well, I'm in Dreamweaver class right now. Instructor likes my layouts that i had from my sweethome work. Breaking down everything into slices is going to be a challenge. And I'm rambling. Must go now.
