Well I am in a foul mood. I went to the dentist for a routine checkup and cleaning. The hygienist gets done telling me "your teeth look just great, they are so white and clean and it looks like you have been flossing" (which I have). Then the dentist comes in, sits down has a quick look and says "your teeth are really clean and white; they look great except for this back molar that is trying to split in two and will need an $800 crown and you need to get a $400 night guard so the one on the right side doesn't crack any more and fall out too." All that oral hygiene and I am getting crowns just like my parents. I am really ticked. |It couldn't have been 10 cavities that are 80% covered, no it has to be the thing that is only 50% covered. I guess that's life. How is your eating going Grandma Far-away and how are the eyes Traci? Well,I think I will go to bed early and hope my teeth are still in one piece in the morning.

my eyes are at least 20/20 in both eyes. I'll update everyone on my one week check-up. It's amazing.
I'm getting a crown for my front chip. It's only 50% covered too. For now I have a yellowish temporary cap while the lab gets my permanent one all ready. Good thing we didn't live in the old days where I'd be blind, chip-toothed and two of my children would be dead from Asthma and breahting problems...of course Tim probably would be dead too, so I'd have married a stronger gene pooled man.
I have gained one pound. Hooray! I need to find my "appetite". Has anyone seen it?
I discovered after 3 or 4 years of not going to the dentist that I'm not brushing correctly. Now you all might think that it's a pretty simple procedure. Not so. The brush needs to be angled about 45 degrees aimed right at the gumline, cause that's where the plaque collects. Now I remember being taught as a kid to brush in a circular motion PERPENDICULAR to the face of the tooth. I didn't have any cavities, but my gums are apparently a bit angry about the alleged neglect. The frequent flossing didn't really have any impact on my gum health apparently. OR maybe my teeth would have fallen out all together, had I not flossed. I had 4s all up and down both sides of my gumline. Not emergency material (decaying bone and gums up and vanishing) at least.
