Almost vacation

It is just 2 weeks until we leave for Louisiana. I am really looking forward to being able to just relax. Yes, I did get quite a break from work while I was in the hospital but that wasn't quite relaxing. My hyperstimulation has calmed down a lot. I still have some fluid in my abdominal cavity but it is staying put and I can finally sleep on my side again and not wake up with horrible backaches (Yeah!). Well it looks like I may follow the trend in this family of "morning" sickness. However mine doesn't seem to care what time of day or night it is. Apparently my diet these days can no longer include Thai food, pizza or Mexican food. And I am only good for about 1/3 of the portion size that I used to eat. You know this whole pregnancy thing kind of sucks right now. Who thought this was a good idea?

I know you don't need to hear all the details for the next 8 months. What else... I am back to work full time but may work from home all week. We still have snow on the ground from last weeks snow. Greyson and I had to go fix the electric dog fence again yesterday as some critter chewed through the wire again. At least they do it more or less in the same spot so I know where to look. When the fence was down Ada figured out she could push the garage door open and helped herself to some of the recycling, spreading it out on the lawn, and had a meal of chicken feed. Greyson is still very busy with his "interactive map" and restaurant website contracts. Other then that we are very happy being snuggled up in our warm house during these cold days.

Glad to hear you are doing well. Yes, morning sickness is a misnomer. I found it was pretty much 24-7 and just a little worse in the a.m.

I'm anxious to see Greyson's work up on the web. I know it will be good.

Things are about the same here. Grandma and I went to a couple of Christmas shops in our area. They were fun but we actually didn't buy anything.

My other great accomplishment was a thorough dusting job.

Hmm. I think maybe an m80 fuse lit and thrown down a certain hole will take care of the wire chewing. Whatever this creature is, it doesn't have our best interests in mind. It has seen the havoc that Ada can wreak on the garage or on the neighbor dogs/neighbors property, chickens, chicken feed etc, and doesn't seem to care.

Thanks guys. I had a meeting today, and the clients are happy in spite of recent work disruptions. Good news, Mel. Bad timing. I'll have my second check in the bank this month. I had a semi-navigation system to show Joe, who is the client from heaven, showing nothing but concern for Mel's well-being, and probably extending me some leniency for the slow-down over the last few weeks. When we got home from the hospital, I went into overdrive, which means spending long hours on forums to figure out programming certain behaviors in actionscript (flash) for the website. What I learned is that there is a different way of going about it for each person that does it, which is not helpful during a time crunch. All I want is the best way. Is that too much to ask? Anyways, today is a good day after positive meetings, and I feel like I squeeked by with the deadlines. whew.

I've been doing a lot of drumming lately with various folks, and they like playing with me. It's really amazing the contacts and exposure I've been able to make through music. I have replaced my videogame obssessions with learning guitar and jamming with people. I wrote an extremely spiteful poem/verse about walmart during mel's hospital time, and one of my buddies really took off with it. Maybe you'll hear the g-rated version of it someday.
